Patching a hole in an air mattress?

January 20th, 2010 | by admin |

My daughter has one of those ready bed which the air mattress is just like a regular size air mattress. It has a small hole in it. I mean really really small. I located the hole though after filling it up with air and placing it in the bath tub. Now that I know where this tiny hole is does anyone know how I can patch it up or am I going to have to buy a new air mattress for the bed. Like I said it is a very small hole. but it is letting the air out when she sleeps on it also the air mattress fits inside a cover/ sack type thing that it fits into so that thing would cover any patch work I have done to the mattress.

Go down to your local sporting goods store and buy a bicycle inner tube patch kit and follow the instructions.

Bicycle patches are a bit heavy. I would use a swimming pool patch kit. I patched my waterbed mattress with these and applied a thin layer of silicone caulk around the edges for extra strength.
