Below are three reasons why air mattresses are the best option for guests who are staying the night, that will hopefully make having overnight company a more enjoyable experience.

They’re easy and fast to set up. When you have someone over the last thing you want to do is spend their whole visit doing chores, you need to spend time with them doing fun things. An inflatable bed takes a few minutes to blow up, throw down a blanket and a pillow, and you’re done. This is a lot simpler than wrestling with a sofa bed.

It only takes up space in your home when you have company. When you’re not using the bed, you can deflate it and store it easily in a closet or a drawer somewhere. It’s silly to waste space in your home on something that will only get used a few times a year, this way it will only really take up space when you need it.

They’re a comfortable option. Air beds are a lot more comfortable than they used to be, more comfortable than sofa beds that often have uncomfortable rods poking you in the back, and definitely more comfortable than the floor. They’ve improved a lot in recent years with common comfort features including flocked tops and raised beds. Having a comfortable sleeping option to offer guests makes you a good host and you can feel comfortable knowing that you’ve done your best to offer them a nice place to stay.

There are a lot of reasons air mattresses are the best option for guests but the three points above are enough reason to justify having one on hand.

It used to be that an inflatable bed was an inflatable bed. There wasn’t much to distinguish one from another. But with all the advances in recent years you can pick the features that make you most comfortable and find a selection of beds that fit you, for instance, soft flocked tops, raised beds, gripping underneath, or dual air chambers. These are all great features to have to give you a comfortable nights rest.

The first, and more common, feature that a lot of companies are utilizing these days is a built in air pump. Having a separate pump can be a bit of a hassle–it’s bulky, making your portable mattress a little bit less portable. The built in pump takes up less space, and gives you less to keep track of. For something a bit more fun, however, there is a new option with an alarm clock built in, which is an extremely convenient and practical feature. For a bit more fun there is a bed with a MP3 speakers built in. You can plug in your MP3 player, or iPod, and listen to your favorite songs while resting. These are fairly new features that will probably become more common place with time, but currently they are features that are setting these products apart from the competition. Both are available for under a hundred dollars, so they’re an affordable option, too.

If you’re going to be using these products for guests it can be really fun to throw down a bed for your guest, who is expecting a typical inflatable bed, and then show them they can plug in their music or set up their alarm clock. These features add a bit of fun to an otherwise unexciting event.

Once you’ve narrowed down your options by comfort, which is of course the most important thing when looking at inflatable beds, consider some more fun and convenient high tech features for air mattresses.
