Hiking backpack help!!!?

March 13th, 2010 | by admin |

hey everyone! i’m going to be going on a few hiking trips this summer. i need to get a hiking backpack since some of them i’ll be gone for about 4 days. i have no clue what to get because all the info is very confusing. i will be carrying a sleeping bag, tent (2 person), collapsible fishing pole, and clothes, etc. i’ll be hiking around ohio mostly, but would like to find something that can go all over since i may be moving to seattle for a little while later this year. if anyone could give me any information or advice about which products will be best for me, that would be most appreciated. so please, help a newbie out! thanks again for taking the time to look and help.

If you are interested in saving as much weight as you can, try a GO-LITE backpack. I recently bought one about the same size as the North Face mentioned, the GO-LITE pack weighs 3 lbs. It doesn’t have all the features and seems more fragile than the North Face…….one pound nine ounces lighter. The heck with it, choices are tough, buy what you like and what feels comfortable for you!

I’ve been backpacking, since I was eighteen, I have bought many packs, currently own 7 or 8, and I still haven’t found the perfect pack in 38 years of searching.
