What is the best hiking backpack for under 300 dollars?

I am looking for a hiking backpack and I am trying to figure out what would be the best one. I’ve looked at the Gregory Palisade, an REI pack, and some others but I don’t know what would be best.

    You can’t go wrong with Gregory.

    My brother has had the Palisade for over 5 years now and really loves it.

    L.L Bean has some really good ones, plus they have a lifetime garentee on them.

    Depends what size you need.
    Day trips? Overnight? Weeks?
