What’s in my Hiking Backpack
February 17th, 2010 | by admin |
Kind of a goofy video.. but here is what I took along with me on a recently afternoon hike. Its sounds like a lot of stuff, but in reality I plan for the worst case scenario. Post hike assesment is that I should have taken another water bottle and sunscreen.

i think that for a day hike, that seems ok. Of course, i am always the person expecting the worst, so i would probably take more, maybe a couple firestarters, instead of just a lighter (in case u have to stay overnight, which would probably never happen, but thats just me lol).
Overall though, good deal. i think that the amount of stuff u have is good on weight for the kind of trip ur going on. great vid 5/5

sweet, I was waiting for this.
By the way, that doesnt sound like a lot. It may sound like a lot to people who have never hiked, but to me, it sounds just about ultralight! lol
I would suggest though, move the fixed to your belt, and to make a survival kit that is carriable in your pocket or belt. An altoids tin works great, but you need something to have if you loose your pack. You need the essentials, look on youtube, there are a bunch of Altoids tins kits out there.
