    injuries if not severe would be better treated under cover in dry and calm weather conditions, This means seek out or prepare shelter, unless first aid is urgently required to stem bloodflow or prevent serious discomfort or infection. Common sense rules.

    Search and Rescue …
    Search and Rescue statistics nationwide point out that the classic survivor is hypothermic and injured so first-aid is a real concern. Once you’ve stabilized that injury, then come the other priorities of shelter, fire, water, and signaling.

    first aid is last because without shelter water and food your done. First aid is rarely used.

    First aid should be further up the chain of importance.
    You cant survive if you leave any injuires untreated.
