Maybe something like " to use my knowledge of and experience in outdoor recreation and activities to provide customers with accurate information and service" I dont think the word recreation sounds strange at all, i mean, essentially... thats what it is :) Then probably use another paragraph to outline your customer service skills, customer interaction skills, ability to build rapport with customers etc, as that is more generalised.
