1) Turn on the first switch and leave it on for a few minutes. Then turn it off and turn on the second switch. Run upstairs to check. If the light is on then it is the second switch. If it is off feel the bulb. If it is hot is was the first switch. If it is not it is the last switch.

2) Light both ends of one fuse and one end of the other. The one with both ends lit should burn out is 30secs. As soon as it burns out light the other end of the second fuse. It should take 15 secs to burn out giving you 45secs.

3) All prime numbers except 1 are closed. All remaining numbers with an even amount of multiples including 1 and itself as multiples are closed. The rest are open.

4) Eleven?

5) You're kidding right? 10

6) What? Hawaii and Florida.

7) What is with these states questions? Yes but I am not American so I won't. By the way, mapquest could do this one so it's not much of a riddle.

8) White, Polar.

9) Adding them. Add the numbers called out then add all the numbers from one to one hundred, then subtract for the missing number.

10) ...
1 - Police man takes the thief across, leaves him and comes back.
2 - Police takes a son across and brings the thief back.
3 - Father and Mother both cross and the mother comes back.
4 - Mother takes a son across and comes back.
5 - Thief and policeman cross and Father comes back.
6 - Father takes a daughter across and comes back .
7 - Father takes other daughter across and comes back.
8 - Father and mother cross together.
References :
Half your questions sucked!!!

1. first you find out which one is the downstairs one, and then turn on the other and go upstairs to see if it was the right one. If it is, there you go. If it isn't, then it is the only one left.
8. white, because the only way that would be possible would be if her camp was directly at the north or south pole, where polar bears live!
9.) add it in your mind as they count, the subtract from 100.
10.) you swim.
References :
can you answer these riddles?
1)
A downstairs panel contains three on-off switches, one of which
controls the lamp in the attic but which one? Your mission is to
do something with the switches, then determine after one trip to
the attic which switch is connected to the attic lamp.

2)
You are presented with two fuses (lengths of string), each of which
will burn for exactly 1 minute, but not uniformly along its
length. Can you use them to measure 45 seconds? (Hint: Yes, you
can. Tell me how.)

3)
Lockers numbered 1 to 100 stand in a row at the school gym. When
the first student arrives, she opens all the lockers. The second
student then goes through and recloses all the even-numbered
lockers; the third student changes the state of every locker whose
number is a multiple of 3. This continues until 100 students have
passed through. Which lockers are now open?

4)
Each number from 1 to 10,000,000,000 is written out in form English
(e.g., two hundred eleven, one thousand forty-two) and then
listed in alphabetical order (as in a dictionary, where spaces and
hyphens are ignored). Whats the first odd number in the list?

5)
How many ways are there to write the numbers 0 through 9 in a row,
such that each number other than the left-most is within one of
some number to the left of it? (Example: 3, 4, 2, 1, 5, 0, 6, 7, 8,
9)

6)
Which two states contain the most distant pair of points in the
United States?

7)
Can you design an automobile trip in the US, beginning in Seattle,
Washington and ending in Washington, D.C., which enters only states
whose names begin with one of the letters in the word WOMAN?

8)
A naturalist left her camp, hiked 10 miles south, and then 10 miles
east, where she spotted and photographed a bear. She then hiked 10
miles north and was back at her camp. You havent got the
photograph, but you still know what color the bear was right?
(What was the color of the bear and why?)

9)
All but one of the numbers from 1 to 100 are read to you, one every
ten seconds, but in no particular order. You have a good mind, but
only a normal memory, and no means of recording information during
the process. How can you ensure that you can determine afterward
which number was not called out?

10)There is a family consisting of a mother, a father, two sons, and
two daughters on one side of a river along with a policeman and a
thief. Everybody has to cross the river on one raft. However, the
following rules have to apply:
Only two people can be on the raft at a time.
The father cannot stay with any of the daughters without their
mothers presence.
The mother cannot stay with any of the sons without their
fathers presence.
The thief cannot stay with any family member if the policeman is
not there.
Only the father, the mother, and the policeman know how to
operate the raft.
How do you get everyone across the river?
