What gear do you get to keep after leaving the Marine Corps?

I’m just wondering, I leave for boot-camp in a month. I know you turn your gear in after boot, aside from uniforms. As well as SOI. but when you get to your unit, do you get to keep anything besides uniforms? And I know you can’t keep weapons. I don’t know about the Ka-Bar though.

I know what I take, But I am interested in what others do. Say you leave high camp for the summit well above the tree line and you leave your sleeping bag and tent behind. It is Fall season and your water bottle had a little ice in it this morning. What gear do you take to survive in case you are caught out over night before returning to camp?

Here I am talking about the things that I bring on a weekend solo camping trek – Flamborough Ontario Canada one chilly Spring Equinox, I started the day before the Equinox and camped through it, (Friday at 12:00 to Sunday morning). I brought my Ragim Fox, (40 lb. reflex / deflex), recurve bow which I use for spot and stalk small game hunting, I had no luck this time with any small game, although I did see a dozen or so white tailed deer and a single turkey in a tree, (both are out of season.. . Solo camping isn’t for everyone, make sure you prepare for the worst weather, it’s still a little cold this time of year for this type of camping, but I’m an enthusiast. Hope you like the video . c

Just interested in enjoying the beach, maybe a little camping, BBQ’ing, & a good time with friends without the normal beach crowd hassle. Seems as though all permits require fishing equipment but I was just curious if there were any off road areas that do not require this. Thanks!
