River Rafting is one of the most exciting adventure sports and Rishikesh is the most preferred destination for rafting in India. Not only domestic but there has also been an increase of international travelers. Here are some tips for Rafting in Rishikesh:

1. There are different levels for rafting – basic, medium and higher. You should opt for the level as per your needs. If you are new to rafting you should try basic level only and people who are too young or too old should also try only basic level and other levels should be avoided.

2. Your Guide: Always listen to the Guide and follow the instructions suggested by them as they have a good amount of experience in dealing with difficult situations while rafting. It’s always suggested to take safety parameters suggested by your guide. Let your guide lead the raft and never try something new without asking him as it can be very dangerous.

3. Food: Don’t eat too much of food before rafting. Eat only light meals before going for rafting.

4. Clothes: You will get wet while rafting in rishikesh and for that make sure that you wear right clothes and also wear Life Jackets, Helmets and Oar which will be available with your rafting provider. Do not wear sandals or sleepers while rafting as you might slip, in such cases it is recommended to wear tennis shoes which will protect your feet.

5. Never go alone: Always go for rafting in groups and never go alone in the remote rivers. At times you might require aid/help which might not be possible at that point of time.
